Morphology
Pereskia grandifolia Haw. known as seven needles plant (Bunga Tujuh Jarum) or rose cactus by the Indonesian. This plant called as seven needles, because in each stem there are 7 needles in each hole. This plant is known as a plant which is able to grow in dry conditions and generally flowering pink. The height of the cross section is able to reach 5-10 m (Karim & Sismindari, 2011). The leaves of this plant are single leaves, the surface is smooth, and contains a lot of fiber (Takeiti et al., 2009).

Distribution & Habitat
Pereskia grandifolia Haw. is a plant native to Argentina and Mexico. Generally, this plant grows in the tropics.

Potential
This plant has strong antioxidant properties, namely hexane and ethyl acetate. These compounds can be utilized as detoxification (toxin removal) and cancer prevention. In addition, this plant contains methanol extract that can prevent toxins from spreading throughout the body (Arifin: 2005), and contains natural fibers, minerals (such as: magnesium, calcium, manganese, and zinc), contains vitamin A, vitamin C, and folic acid (Takeiti et al.: 2009).

Usability
Pereskia grandifolia Haw. is commonly used by Chinese and Malaysian for cancer prevention. This plant can be used as an antidote to venomous snakes in guinea pigs. The leaves can reduce high blood pressure, pain relief, such as: arthritis, headache, toothache, injury, menstrual cramps, and cure the postoperative pain (Karim & Sismindari: 2011).
